In 2026 the Educational Centre runs 45 intensive specialised programmes in the Arts: music performance, choreography, fine arts and creative writing.
The programmes aim to preserve the traditions of academic fine art, music and ballet, to support the professional development of young artists who have achieved outstanding results, and to sustain the potential of the leading Russian institutions that contribute most to arts education in the country.
The programmes are led by prominent figures in culture and the arts and by leading teachers from specialised universities.
Music performance
Music performance covers the following specialities: harp, French horn, cello, viola, oboe, clarinet, violin, trombone, trumpet, tuba, percussion, bassoon, flute, piano and double bass.
Through intensive individual tuition participants gain professional skills in working with music, discover new creative possibilities in composition, stage movement and acting, solfeggio, music theory and history, and show their progress at academic concerts.
Composition is a compulsory subject at Sirius, built on creative development through creating musical images and writing music. At the end of the programme, works written by participants are performed at a concert of their own compositions. For many it is their first serious experience and an incentive to develop professionally.
Since 2021 the June programme has included the Symphony Academy project supported by the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra. Young musicians study with the orchestra’s principal players and perform alongside their mentors on the big stage in two symphony concerts.
Many Sirius alumni win awards at prestigious international and Russian music competitions.
Constellation All-Russian Young Musicians Competition
Since 2019 Sirius has hosted the Constellation All-Russian Young Musicians Competition. Its distinctive feature is a unique system of professional support for winners and laureates: performances at concerts and festivals with the country’s leading professional ensembles. Their mentors are masters of musical performance, eminent professors and teachers.
The final stage of the competition took place in April 2026, with 15 finalists from Russia and Belarus.

Choreography: classical dance (ballet)
Since 2015 the Sirius Educational Centre has run intensive choreography programmes for students of ballet schools, colleges and academies. Alongside intensive classical dance training, they include acting, floor barre, stage make-up and the history of dance. Participants can also attend master classes in character and historical dance, and in summer — contemporary dance and classical pas de deux.
Young dancers learn from performing artists and work with artistic directors of theatres and leading ballet institutions in Russia. They go through the full cycle of concert preparation — from staging a number with a choreographer to creating a stage image with professional make-up artists and costume designers.
Each programme ends with a colourful concert of variations and excerpts from famous ballets as well as contemporary works. A highlight of the season is the young dancers’ performance at gala concerts during the Sirius Spring Music Festival and the Sirius Grand Summer Music Festival.
Alumni successfully compete at international and national competitions: in 2026 Sirius students were among the prize-winners of the XIX Arabesque-2026 Open Russian Ballet Competition named after Ekaterina Maximova.
Fine arts
The fine arts track includes nine programmes with expert support from three organisations, covering watercolour, oil and monumental painting, academic and compositional drawing, academic and animal sculpture, pottery and ceramic painting. The best works by young artists are selected for the Sirius Educational Centre exhibition collection and later shown at exhibition venues on the federal territory and beyond. Many alumni go on to study at the country’s leading art universities.
Creative writing
In 2026 the programmes include The Art of Film Storytelling, Journalism and Media, Culture and Society, and Literary Criticism. Students explore the professions of writer, editor, journalist, literary critic, screenwriter and publisher. Many alumni become prize-winners of national olympiads and laureates of national and international competitions.
